1,600 sq ft plus 200 sq ft detached garage
The owners started the design for this house knowing that they wanted to build only what they need – so the compact, efficient 1,600 sq ft plan was developed. The house was also designed to meet the neighbourhood’s strict design guidelines for new houses to fit in with neighbouring heritage-style homes. This house will meet Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code and is also participating in the Near Zero case study program.
From top (roof-top solar panels) to bottom (12″ of insulation below the slab) and everywhere in-between, this house has embraced energy-efficient, environmentally responsible materials and equipment.
